This letter is attributed to Sophie Amalie (of Brunswick-Luneburg, queen consort of Frederik III, king of Denmark), as author in the STC as well as in the printed original. It is signed "Your Majesties cordial and unfeigned Kinswoman, M. R." There is also the portrait on the title page, which includes the inititials "M R". Does anyone know the reason for this?
